Mr. Underwood began his sales career at Motorola, specializing in selling two-way communication systems. With the support of exceptional training and coaching, he quickly distinguished himself as a top-tier sales performer.
Through a series of fortuitous events, Mr. Underwood transitioned into the manufactured housing industry with Palm Harbor Homes in North Carolina, where he developed a lasting passion for the industry, its homes, its retailers, and its communities.
Mr. Underwood successfully managed an independent retail location, achieving consistent sales of over 45 homes per month. Additionally, he served as Vice President of Sales for a multi-location dealership in the Southwest, where he further honed his leadership and strategic expertise.
For the past 35 years, Mr. Underwood has been a respected consultant, speaker, and trainer in the manufactured housing industry. He has worked with retailers, communities, and manufacturers, specializing in marketing, sales, sales management, and leadership development.
Mr. Underwood is the co-founder of FillrateMHC.com, a company focused on helping communities implement innovative sales strategies that unlock upside opportunities, driving growth and prosperity for all stakeholders involved.
Born and raised in the Manufactured Housing industry with two family-owned communities established in 1948, along with a dealership in Wisconsin for Modular and Manufactured homes. Tammy operated the company's sales and marketing (1994-2011) as well as played an active role in day-to-day operations.
In 2008, she joined the lead-generating website www.manufacturedhomesource.com in the MH industry. The company provided internet exposure for Dealers and Community Owners across North America.
Ms. Fonk holds a WI Real Estate Sales License, is certified CLM and CHC through the Wisconsin Housing Alliance, and is a current CCIM Candidate. She expanded her RE experience when joining the CBRE MH/RV National Group in Atlanta from 2011 to 2016 as Transaction Manager.
In 2016, as new Managing Director, Acquisitions, at Brookside Management, operators of a 3000+ site portfolio with HomeFirst Communities, Ms. Fonk planned and directed all activities toward achieving growth targets through mergers and acquisitions. HomeFirst was sold to Green Courte Partners in September 2018.
